Adam’s Peak has been the object of worship by many people. The sacred foot print which is respected by followers of all religions in Sri Lanka is situated in the Samanal Kanda of the Central hills. Buddhists believe that the foot print is of the Lord Buddha, Hindus believe it is Lord Shiva’s, Christians and Muslims believe it to be of Biblical Adam. The view from the peak is breathtakingly beautiful especially at sunrise and for some the arduous climb to the top could turn out to be an amazingly transcendental experience.

Adam’s Peak is 7360 feet above sea level. The season to climb Sri Pada begins in December till April.
